MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT HOMOEOPATHY

 

            Just few days ago, in my clinic, a patient acting cool, with a jacket, funky shoes, hair all spiked up, maintaining a really good french beard entered my clinic door complaining of irritation in throat with redness, a slight fever and bodypain. I took his history and started explaining him the auxiliaries he has to follow and the dose of my homoeopathic medicine. That moment he was taken aback;

He : “Homoepathy? No I don’t want homoeopathy! I want fast result! Give me an injection and finish it off!”

Me : “Yes, I will give only homoeopathy and no I will not be giving you any injections”

He : “okay then madam, I wanted fast results and homoeopathy does not suit me and I have to get back to my work, I don’t have that much patience to wait for your medicine to act and I don’t have time now” saying this he walked away without saying a word of gratitude!

           Getting furious at him , I asked him to give me my consultation charges. But as he was walking away, I realized there is absolute no use of getting angry on people who don’t know the effect and power of homoeopathy. If they have no awareness about this system, this will be the scenario forever!

So that’s when I got the topic for my next blog. Let us burst some myths and know the actual facts about homoeopathy.

1          1.   HOMOEOPATHY ACTS SLOW

              We have been hearing this since ages. Now, in chronic diseases the root cause, is the what we have to remove. So to reach to your root cause it may take time (by taking a detailed case history, which also most of the times, is found out real quick). But in acute diseases, like cough, cold, fever, wounds, etc, it absolutely acts quickly like any other medicine if given the perfect medicine.

 ALL YOU NEED IS A LITTLE FAITH!

2          2.   HOMOEOPATHY, A GENERAL MEDICINE

              Homoeopathy is a system where the key is INDIVIDUALISATION. i.e.          Every human being has a uniqueness in him. Every single remedy in this system is very thoroughly studied, proved and scientifically proven and thus suitable for that particular individual to which it is prescribed. For eg., If you and your friend has fever at the same time, you both will have different medicine as the cause can be different for two different individual.

FORGET THE SAYING- ONE FOR ALL!

3            3.   HOMOEOPATHY HAS A PLACEBO EFFECT

                      I personally would love to burst this one! Any Homoeopathic medicine undergoes a process called potentization in which, a crude substance (a plant extract, a mineral compound, a seed or a stem of a plant) is 100 times beaten in mortar and pestle to make 1 single potency/power and the following potencies/powers are followed with the same procedure. Also, when you administer these potencies for proving method, the homeopaths get the desired results from the patients. So how can it be a fancy? Or placebo?

ITS ALL LOGIC!

4           4. HOMOPATHIC MEIDICINE CONTAINS STEROIDS

                  Now, after the potentization, these homoeopathic medicine go for legal standardizations and packaging to concerned authorities and get approved under multiple pharmacopoeias. So if they would contain steroids, they would never come out in the market and be sold out. Also, each and every medicine has its content written on the labels. If steroids were administered through homoeopathic medicines, why wouldn’t you suffer from any side effects then? Whereas Homoeopathy is known for not giving any side effects!

ITS ALL IN THE MIND!!
