How many of you all have seen the movie INSIDE OUT? If not,
please go watch it. It is a wonderful movie!
Inside Out is a film about an 11
year old girl named Riley who moves to San Francisco with her parents. Riley
experiences a transformation in her mind and finds out who she is as a person
as she tries to adjust to her new life and the difficult process of growing up.
All her emotions i.e. happiness, sadness/grief, jealousy, disgust,
anger, etc are shown as different persons
and we get to know how easy it is to know that all emotions are just packed in
a small space called MIND and we realise its just a short span called LIFE in
which we experience these feelings.
The famous novelist, Jeffrey Eugenides says, " Biology gives you a brain, Life turns it into a mind"
What are these emotions made of? Or from where do they come?
Do they come from brain? Does any organ in our body synthesize or generate
these emotions? According to me, NO! These are just names of the feelings we
experience in a particular situation. They are generated by an unknown force
called MIND! The place where it all starts. There is no science which can find
where mind is. It is an abstract. To experience the power of mind all we need
to do is be a little alert and be aware of our existence every single moment. All these emotions are developed by our day to day experiences, surroundings and most importantly the aspect in which you see a particular situation,
Now what is the relation between this so called mind and
Homeopathy?
The only relation is Homoeopathy will catch out all the
emotions thrown out of our mind and will try to find out the reason behind that
particular emotion! No emotion is good or bad, it is just RIGHT according to that
person, at that time. All we need is a bit of awareness and find the reason
behind that feeling. Where homoeopathy helps is if that emotion is constant and
causing any discomfort to the patient and converting it to different physical
diseases; it helps to eliminate that emotion through useful means and cure the physical
problem. The condition is called PSYCHO-SOMATIC DISORDERS. i.e where due to
disturbed mind, you are ought to attract physical disorders, like diabetes,
hypertension, thyroid disorders, skin diseases, and so on.
Finding the temperament and constitution
of a person is the most crucial element of Homoeopathic case taking.
TEMPERAMENT – a certain way a person acts and behaves in a given situation.
CONSTITUTION – physical and mental make-up of a person.
How are you as a person? How do you react to certain
situations? Do you cry? What was the happiest and the most sad moment in your
life and your reactions to the same? Who is the closest person to you and why?
How was your childhood? Are there any suppressions in your life? Were you
married according to your will or not? What is the most wild action you have
taken or you wish to take in your life? Are some the few question we ask to get
to know you.
Of course the answers come with comfort. How open you are
with your doctor, it all depends upon that; and its solely the doctor’s duty to
make you feel that! When we get these emotions, we give you certain mind
exercises that you an practice to feel ok every-time you experience some extreme
emotion. Lets see some of the exercises you can practice:
JOURNALLING :
This is my personal favorite. Write down everything you feel. LITERALLY everthing. What you did the whole day, what was that that made you upset, what made you happy, what did you learn from each day, how was you day, bad or good, like every little thing you feel. It will take just 10 mins of your busy day, just do it and see the difference!
TALK IT OUT:
If you are not comfortable or don’t like to write down in the fear that someone might read it, talk your emotions out to someone you are comfortable with. Your husband ,wife, boy-friend/girl-friend, fiancée, mother, father, brother, sibling, anyone! It helps you getting out of the setback you may have faced during the day.
MIRROR EXERCISE :
Stand in front of the mirror at any time of the day, (preferable in the morning,) and say it out loud (in your comfortable language) “I LOVE MYSELF AND
EXERCISE AND MEDITATE:
Exercising creates energy that circulates all through your body and gives a soothing effect to your inner self and mind. If the exercise is associated with meditation, there is nothing like it, as when you meditate, there is absolute nothing with you except you, and at end of the day, all that matters is your happiness.
FOLLOW YOUR HEART/MIND:
Whatever are your hobbies or that you have missed out on, in life, just complete that. You may be 60 years and you want to hike/trek, just do it. You may be just a bathroom singer, just sing aloud as if no one is listening, you might be afraid to dance, but believe me, if you dance as if no one is wathing, you are the best dancer with your own rhythm! You might not be financially sound, and you want to go travel, go take a short trio just somewhere near to your place, it wll give you happiness which cannot match anything.

Try to inculcate atleast one of the above and you see a huge difference in your life. If the emotions are causing problems do not hesitate to consult a doctor ASAP.
Mind is something on which I can talk and write pages! So this
was a brief about the most important part of our human system. Please take
good are of it, for there is no doctor who can cure if it is broken! You are the
one who can fix it. So handle with care.
